2011 Infotec Conference

Call for Presentation/Workshop Proposals
 
The AIM Institute is preparing for the 2011 Infotec Conference to be held April 19-20, 2011, at the Qwest Center Omaha. The Infotec Conference provides education, networking, community building and access to local and national experts for Information Technology (IT) professionals and stakeholders. The conference is directed by the AIM Institute as a vibrant, creative and forward-looking conference. Over 800 attended Infotec in 2010. 
 
The AIM Institute is seeking presentation and workshop proposals for the 2011 Infotec Conference from IT professionals and executives, non-IT professionals, college/university educators, and other interested individuals or groups.  Presentations should be creative, interactive and no more than 60 minutes in length including at least 15 minutes for questions from the audience. Workshops may be up to 4 hours in length.
 
Presenter Responsibilities:
  • Provide a brief written summary of your presentation to be used in attendee materials.
  • Provide a picture and biography to be used for conference promotion and introductions.
  • Provide a video summary of presentation for the conference web site.
  • Provide all materials to AIM or designated staff for the session attendees.
  • Coordinate all A/V and special equipment needs with AIM or designated staff.
  • Conduct presentation in an interactive, professional manner.
 
The following are potential conference tracks/topics under consideration:
 
  1. Application Development (Cloud, HTML 5, Mobile, other)
  2. Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
  3. Cloud Computing (Software as a Service, Best Practices, Innovative Uses)
  4. Enterprise Collaboration
  5. Entrepreneurial Ideas/Start-ups
  6. Executive IT Leadership and Management
  7. Healthcare IT
  8. Information Security and Risk Management
  9. IT Infrastructure (Networking, Data Center, Green IT, Virtualization, VoIP)
  10. IT Trends
  11. Project Management
  12. Retaining and Developing IT Talent
  13. Social Networking
  14. Wireless and Mobility
  15. Other creative topic ideas. (You tell us what is relevant and important!)
 
Please select only one presentation track/topic for your proposal or submit your own track idea. Each proposal should be for only one topic.
 
Proposals are due by Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
 
Selection criteria:
  • Topics must be of interest and relevant to 2011 Infotec attendees.
  • Presenter(s) must have expertise and/or experience in the topics being presented.
  • Video of the presenter(s) giving a presentation and/or providing a video summary of their proposed presentation is strongly encouraged, and preference will be given to such submissions.
  • Interactive presentations and discussions are encouraged over typical PowerPoint information overload.
  • Innovative and timely topics and business solutions are desired.
  • A mixture of local, regional and national presenters is desired.
  • Only a limited number of presentations slots are available in each track.
